Yet today I choose one of my favorite products: Shio Saba. This salted mackerel is very tasty itself and can be put in the oven directly. I like to serve this fish with some rice and beans in garlic butter and soy sauce. It doesn’t get much easier and tastier than this. “

  • Shio Saba (salted mackerel)
  • 150 grams white rice
  • 300 grams green beans
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • Plenty of butter
  • Splash of soy sauce


  1. Defrost the fish for 30 minutes in the package in cold water
  2. Preheat the oven at 230 ℃
  3. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the package
  4. Cook the green beans al dente for 5 minutes
  5. Put the fish in the oven for 7 minutes
  6. Chop and bake the garlic in plenty of butter
  7. Add the green beans and soy sauce and stir fry at high heat for a couple minutes
  8. Serve the fish with rice and beans.
